Launching Skinrent
We're excited to announce the official launch of Skinrent, a modern Counter-Strike 2 marketplace where you can buy, sell, and rent skins. The platform uses automated Steam bots to handle all sales, eliminating the risks of scams and trade reversals.
From Skindap to Skinrent
Originally operating as Skindap, the platform has relaunched with improved functionality. The rebrand to Skinrent comes with the introduction of the marketplace's flagship feature: risk-free rentals powered by Steam's Trade Protection update.
The relaunch includes full integration with Stripe for both payments and withdrawals. Sellers can now cash out instantly when their items sell, and the selling fee has been reduced to 2% to stay competitive with other CS2 marketplaces.
The New Rental System
Valve introduced Trade Protection in July 2025, adding a new feature that allows either party to reverse trades within a 7-day window. The system was designed as a security measure for compromised accounts, but Skinrent uses this mechanism to enable risk-free rentals.
When you rent a skin, a dedicated Steam bot trades the item directly to your account. You have full access to use the skin in-game for the entire 7-day period. Once the rental expires, the bot automatically reverses the trade to reclaim the item.
This approach solves the major problems that have plagued rental systems in other markets. There is no possibility of stolen items, no risk of damaged skins (such as sticker scraping), and no collateral requirements for renters.
High-tier items like the M4A4 | Howl and Butterfly Knife | Doppler are currently available for rent on the platform, giving players access to premium skins they might never be able to afford or purchase outright.
Core Marketplace Features
The platform operates through automated Steam bots that hold all listed items before any transactions occur. This setup makes scamming and reversed trades impossible, ensuring every transaction goes as expected.
For buyers, Stripe integration supports all major credit cards and payment apps including Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and more. Items are delivered instantly through automated trade offers upon purchase.
Sellers benefit from instant payouts when their items sell. Skinrent credits seller accounts immediately, so you can withdraw your earnings right away. Stripe handles withdrawals to get you paid quickly and securely through Bank Transfer or Debit Card. The marketplace charges a 2% selling fee for all successful sales.
Refining the System
After a rental period ends, Steam imposes a 30-day trading restriction on the bot account. During this 30-day period, rented items remain safely stored with Skinrent. Sellers can unlist items at any time or withdraw them back to their Steam accounts after the restriction expires. Items are automatically relisted after the 30-day period ends.
